NBFF PRESENTS: The NBFF Monologue Slam 2019

What is the NBFF monologue slam?
A monologue slam is a competition where finalists will perform a monologue in
front of judges who consists of actors, coaches, producers, casting, etc…. The
NBFF Monologue Slam is here to showcase actors/actresses of all types! All
Finalists will perform live at the 2018 National Black Film Festival on Thursday
May 2, 2019.

What is a monologue?
A monologue a long speech by one actor in a play or movie, or as part of a
theatrical or broadcast program.

Who can enter?
Any actor/actress from around the world can enter. Ages 16+

How to Enter
There is an entry fee of $15. The extended entry fee will be $20.

– You must upload your video to YouTube. Please make the video “unlisted.” – You
will send your entry fee to *paypal account*
– After Payment, you will send your receipt/paypal tracking number along
with your video link to nationalblackfilmfestival@gmail.com

– In the subject line, please write your name, age, and “Monologue Entry”

ENTRY RULES
• – The Monologue can be no longer than 2 minutes.
• – The Monologue can be from a play or movie.
• – In Your Submission video, please give us your name, age, and the
play/film you will be doing.
• – All teens 17 and under must have permission from a parent/guardian to
be a finalist. (A waiver will be sent out and must be signed by
parent/guardian).

• – Please make sure the videos are clear. You may use your phone, Ipad,
etc… but no professional videos please! We want to see you!

• – Please perform monologues that are your TYPE! (age range, gender,
etc…)
• – Regular submissions must be submitted by March 15th, 2019 ($15 entry
fee)
• – Extended submissions must be submitted by March 20th, 2019. ($20
entry
fee)
• – Notification of finalists will go out by March 22nd, 2019.
Finalists
• – The top 15 winners will be chosen to perform LIVE at the NBFF 2019 on
May 2
nd
, 2019 in front of judges and a live audience.
• – All Finalists will get free entry to the entire festival.
• – All Finalists’ monologues must be no longer than one minute and 30
seconds.
– There will be a Grand Prize Winner followed by a 1st and 2nd runner
up.
• – Prizes include cash prizes, acting relating prizes, gifts and much more.
